We are almost entirely funded by external funders who want to make life easier for local people and improve sustainability.
If you’d like to help us run Bayshare, with a grant, sponsorship or items, please drop us a line!
The 3R Foundation and Charity shop (3RC)

3RC gave us a hefty £640 in June 2026! With it we purchased a large solar panel (220W) and a storage battery (1kAh) capable of outputting 240V for domestic appliances. We hope this will be used by campers and stall-holders.
Walney Extension Community Fund

This coastal charity, funded by the Walney Island Wind Farm, awarded us £14,500, to be paid out over 2 years, starting in May 2026. This guarantees us a strong start and 24 months of funding.
Pots of Possibility ‘Community Pots’

We were granted £5,000 from the Closing Loops Pots of Possibility ‘Community Pots’ Fund in April 2025, but this wasn’t enough to start the project until we were able to secure additional funding.
Lancaster City Council

Over late 2025-early 2026 we worked with Lancaster City Council on the work needed to launch Bayshare Library of Things and to work around the Bayshare Lending Directory. This work was funded by close to £5,000 of UK Shared Prosperity Funding. They were keen that we add other organisations, as sub-libraries, and to generally promote lending in the Lancaster District to help reduce the cost of living and help with community and climate resilience. They have also provided several things for us to lend out to you!
Lancaster and Morecambe Makers

LAMM put £500, that they earned running an event for Light Up Lancaster in 2026, into the kitty (Nov 2026) to get skin in the game.
