Membership

Currently, we aren’t accepting members, until we have finished setting up the library catalogue! This should be possible, some time in May 2026.

Signing up to use BayShare

1. Register a temporary account on the website
2. You are now able to book items to be picked up within the next 28 days
3. On your first item collection (or if you just want to validate your account, so it won’t be deleted after 28 days of inactivity) please bring a proof of ID, proof of being at least 18 and proof of address. We want to protect ourselves, but we also don’t want to exclude anyone unnecessarily:
   • To prove your ID:
     • Show your debit/credit card
     • Show an official letter with your name on it, such as a utility bill that you’ve received
     • Show photo ID, such as a driving licence, passport or government ID card
   • To prove you are over 18, you can either:
     • Clearly look 25 or older
     • Show photo ID, such as a driving licence, passport or government ID card
   • To prove address, you can:
     • Show an official letter with your name on it, such as a utility bill that you’ve received
4. We will upgrade your temporary account to one of the membership tiers, down below

Volunteer

“Free” with a time commitment

Help out with the library – staffing loan sessions, maintenance and/or repair.

Backer

£5 pcm (or £60 per year)

An increased rate, to show your support! Each backer offsets the reduced rate of a Supporter membership.
