Currently, we aren’t accepting members, until we have finished setting up the library catalogue! This should be possible, some time in May 2026.
Signing up to use BayShare
- Register for an account on the website. This is temporary and will be deleted in 28 days of it is left unverified
- You are now able to book items to be picked up within the next 28 days
- On your first item collection (or if you just want to validate your account, so it won’t be deleted after 28 days of inactivity) please bring a proof of identity and address.
- To prove your identity (and that you are at least 18):
- Show official photo ID, such as a driving licence, passport or Home Office-recognised photo ID/proof-of-age card (other options)
- To prove address:
- Show an official letter with your name and address on it, such as a recent utility bill or letter from a government agency (other options)
- To prove your identity (and that you are at least 18):
- We will upgrade your temporary account to one of the membership tiers, seen below

Most memberships give a discount to borrowing fees.

Membership of Lancaster Community Makerspace (aka LAMM) gives free membership of BayShare!
Charity
Free
Sign up with an email address associated with a registered charity. Borrowed items would be expected to be used by the charity, not the individual.
Paid memberships
All of the paid memberships give you the same benefits, but please pay-what-you-can-afford! Paying for a year in advance is preferred, but you can also pay monthly, if that suits you better.
Backer
£48 per year
An increased rate, to show your support! Each Backer offsets the reduced rate of a Supporter membership.
Member
£24 per year
Regular rate.
Supporter
£1 per year
A reduced rate, if you decide that you can’t afford the regular rate.
